Last night, clergy and faithful joined Bishop Frank in celebrating the annual Mass of Chrism at which the sacramental oils were blessed, and the priests renewed their promises to the Bishop. Twenty five priests concelebrated the Mass at which the Bishop reminded all of those present of their own baptismal anointing and the call to give and to share the anointing that we have received “every one of us has a responsibility to hear that call, and to complete that call with a “yes””.
He reminded us all that we are called to a unity in Christ, a communion that is brothers and sisters working together and ready to preach and proclaim the Gospel through their lives.
Bishop Frank also highlighted the importance of supporting priests through prayer and collaborative ministry as well as giving thanks for their “yes” to God and their continued “yes” in living out their promises daily.
