On Saturday, sixty-five young people, as well as adult youth leaders and Caritas volunteers from across our Diocese gathered at St Teresa’s Church, Dumfries, for the @rcdgyouth Easter Youth Gathering. Over the course of the day, they spent time playing a variety of different games – led by the Youth Office’s S3 Junior Leader and S4 Mentors – as well as hearing talks on the theme of the Holy Spirit as part of our Diocesan Year of Prayer. The talks focused on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how the young people are invited to use them.

At Mass, the young people were joined by the St Joseph’s Academy Junior Choir who sang for the Mass. In his homily, Fr Kevin, the Diocesan Youth Chaplain, invited the young people to truly open their hearts to God and to his transforming love, that they may use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives to be modern missionary disciples for Christ.

The day ended with Adoration and Prayer, as well as an invitation to young people to get involved in the Youth Office’s upcoming events. Find out more: https://buff.ly/pn2RrTa

The Youth Office thanks everyone who made the event possible: the parish volunteers from St Teresa’s who came to cook lunch, the adult and junior leaders from the Youth Office who facilitated the day, the Junior Choir from St Joseph’s Academy who accompanied Mass, and to all of the young people who came along and took part.
